Can you review your PlotWatcher Pro video files on the LCD screen located on the camera?
No. Because we are recording such a large area of land and because much of what you will be interested in will be a long distance from the camera, the screen on the camera is simply too small to be practical. In addition, there is not enough room on that screen to operate our GameFinder software which is critical to controlling the video so that you can manage your way through all of the images you collect in a reasonable time.
How many video images can I expect to capture if I use only 4 batteries?
You should expect to collect between 375,000 and 500,000 images using 4 alkaline batteries.
Does the PlotWatcher Pro come on automatically at first light and turn off at dark like the PlotWatcher Original?
Yes, if you want it to. However, if you prefer to set a specific time of the day for it to turn on and turn off, you have that option as well. We have provided both this “light-based” option and a “time-based” option.
What do I do if my computer doesn’t recognize the SDHC card?
Most computers built in the recent years recognize SDHC cards. However, if your computer is more than a few years old, it’s likely that it won’t recognize the SDHC card, like the SD card. The solution is to purchase a SDHC card reader/writer. This converter will plug into the usb drive of your computer with the SDHC card inserted into it. Your computer will then be able to recognize the SDHC card and you can begin playing your videos.
I started my PlotWatcher Pro yesterday. I checked it today and there were no videos saved on the SDHC card. What’s wrong?
In most cases where the Pro doesn’t begin to video when its setup, the issue is that there is some number of days entered into the Start Delay feature. Simply press the Page button and the first page after the home page is the Start Delay page. Select “0” so that the camera starts immediately when closed.
